March 21st 2015 – Dr. Alexander Jimenez and Sue Semrau with The Tallahassee RollerGirls

FSU Women’s basketball head coach, Sue Semrau will talk with Brien about the challenges facing today’s student athlete and the dedication required from her and her coaching staff to help them achieve their best both on and off the court. Coach Sue has been elected “Coach of the Year” for the fourth time. FSU is 14-0 at home and 29-4 overall.

Dr. Alexander Jimenez is the Director of Orchestral Studies at FSU’s School of Music. He’ll talk with Brien about one of the three student orchestras at FSU, “Philharmonia” and their “Pops In The Park” concert planned for Saturday night in the amphitheater at Cascades Park in Tallahassee beginning at 7:30.

The Tallahassee RollerGirls is a group of women ranging in age from 20 to 50 years old from a variety of backgrounds each possessing a unique set of talents. These ladies utilize and integrate these talents to successfully run the business that is The Tallahassee RollerGirls. These women are not paid for the time and commitment involved, but do so for the love of the sport. Business aside, the women vigorously train while living and breathing skill and strategy to not only bring the full-contact, fast-paced sport of Roller Derby to Tallahassee and North Florida, but to bring the area a team to be proud of.

While living in the sunny south, Cheryl is focus on machine embroidery with the latest Pfaff machines. She loves taking pictures and sending them to her sewing machine to stitch out fabric to frame. That is now possible!! Hours and hours of hand sewing are ok but this is way cool! Even her cat is not able to sleep without me taking a picture to sew.
