First we have Ben Pingree, Director of Planning, Land Management, and Community Enhancement (PLACE) to talk about Blueprint 2020 and all of the various development projects taking place in the community. Then Tallahassee has faced its worst natural disaster in 31 years. Hurricane Hermine has tested our emergency preparedness, our patience, our community leaders and our resolve. With controversies swirling around the efforts of state and local officials to restore services and protect the public from crime, gouging and downed power lines, the questions regarding public versus private protectionism, a republican governor and democrat mayor, and several points of miscommunication abound. Florida House Representative for District 9 Michelle Rehwinkel Vasilinda will talk with Brien about her first-hand view of how the process unfolded and what we can learn from this experience.
